Characterisation
A beautiful, deep violet wine aroma bouquet offers a light spice and nuances of ripe red cherries and field berries. The soft yet powerful flavour brings out juicy raspberries and toasted notes from maturation in Oak container. Excellent structure, silky tannins and impressively long-lasting aftertaste. The wine has undergone malolactic fermentation and is matured in oak barrels for 18 months.
The storage potential of the wine is 6 years. The wine is made of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc grapes.
Consumption recommendation
Ideal for beef, sheep and game but also for hard cheeses.
Details
The Bessett vineyard is located in the Landerrouat village east of Bordeaux’s appeal and their family has been wine-making for four generations. The talented winemaker and owner Alain Bessette has been mentioned for a number of years “Talents de Bordeaux Supérieur” top veinimeister and his wines can consistently international awards and recognitions. André Bessette (Alain’s father) restructured the entire vineyard in 1960. from grapes to soil drainage in order to maximise the quality of the berries and the wine under construction. In the 1980s there were only 20ha under the plantation, then it has now expanded to 60ha. Alain joined his father in 1999. in order to preserve the winemaking traditions of the family and the quality of the work carried out.
