Details
Cigales is a wine region with a relatively short history in the vicinity of the much more famous wine area – Rioja. A rather sparsely fertile soil forces the vine to tighten and take root deep. The result is a low yield, but with juice with a more concentrated and aromatic character. Among the local vine varieties, the star is Tempranillo, or in the local context Tinto Fino or Tinta del Pais.
