Characterisation
Barbera is the third largest of the red vine varieties in Italy. Local owners of small vineyards in the north-west of Piemonte work hand in hand with the Ricossa Wine Master to get the most mature crop out of the field. Barbera is dark red in colour, the wine circle is purple in bright light. Barbera is naturally characterised by strong acidity and a milder combination of tanning substances. Tasted surprises with pleasantly intense berry. Raspberry, blackberry and sour cherry give a good background to the acid that passes through the wine. All in a nice balance.
Consumption recommendation
Pasta bolognese, lasagne, antipasti, pork, sausages, hard cheese.
