Characterization
Saperavi is Georgia’s most well-known and appreciated red vine variety. The grapes are ripe for harvesting in the first weeks of October. Strong, dry red wine with dark ruby colour, with hints of ripe cherry and blackcurrant in the aroma. Flavoring is provided by the nuances of ripe fruit and spicy oak. The long-lasting aftertaste has a pleasant mixture of ripe tannins, cedar and vanilla.
